Using decoys to deceive the consumer
Promoting a product similar to a product made by a particular manufacturer in such a manner as deliberately to mislead the consumer into believing that the product is made by that same manufacturer when it is not.
New! The Blacksmith XD2
This new, improved espresso maker uses Zennsio XD1 filters but costs half as much as previous Zennsio models.
This advertisement misleads by giving the impression that the Blacksmith XD2 is designed to replace the previous Zennsio XD models whereas it is actually a completely different product from a different manufacturer. Sometimes, traders mislead consumers offering products with a packaging which gives the general "look and feel" of a competing well-known manufacturer.
